Know your backup.

Weather-band reception depends on local broadcast coverage. The SOS alarm draws nearby attention; it does not contact emergency services. USB-C is the main charging method, with solar and hand-crank charging as supplementary options.

A few useful answers.

Does it need Wi-Fi or a phone to play radio?

No. Broadcast radio reception does not need Wi-Fi or a mobile connection. Reception depends on your location, the station and antenna placement. Bluetooth playback requires a compatible audio device.

Will NOAA weather radio work everywhere?

NOAA weather broadcasts are a US service and require local transmitter coverage. Weather-band availability outside that service area varies. Check local coverage before relying on this feature.

Does SOS contact emergency services?

No. The SOS function is a local audible alarm, not a satellite messenger, emergency call or rescue notification.

Can it charge my phone?

The USB output can provide backup power to a compatible phone using the appropriate cable. The amount delivered depends on the radio's remaining charge, phone and cable; a full phone recharge is not guaranteed.

What is the best way to charge it?

Charge by USB-C before trips and periodically while stored. Solar and hand-crank charging are supplementary options when mains power is unavailable.
